Program Overview

The Nursing Assistant Program at Delano Adult School is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the healthcare industry. The program is designed to provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience to care for ill and convalescing patients. During class instruction, students will learn basic anatomy and physiology, human development, factors affecting health, basic nursing care, charting techniques, and the role and responsibility of a healthcare provider. Students will also be provided with practical training to ensure that they can perform their duties effectively and safely. The program offers clinical experience in a long-term care facility under the direct supervision of the instructor. During the clinical experience, students will be able to apply the skills learned in the classroom and gain practical experience working with patients. This experience is invaluable and will help students develop their skills, confidence, and competence in the healthcare industry.

Introduction to Healthcare and Nursing: The program begins with an introduction to the healthcare industry and the role of nursing assistants. Participants gain insights into the healthcare system, the importance of teamwork, and the fundamental principles of nursing.
